Biography

Nancy Fabrizio paints both in watercolor and in oils. After spending a fultilling career providing assistance to victims of crime, she is now able to pursue her love of painting full-time.

Her artwork depicts the seacoast with its ever-changing, magical light and delicate hues. Nancy enjoys en plein air painting whenever possible, especially if she is near a rocky coastline and can hear the soothing sounds of the sea. Her palette is filled with subtle blues, violets and greens of the ocean. The transparency of watercolors and the texture of oils allow her to layer color and shapes to reflect the soft changes in the air. The elements and atmosphere, which are expressed in her artwork, are constant and timeless, offering a connection between the present and the past.

Throughout the years, she has studied with, and has been inspired by artists Kris Delosantos, Dorothy Foley, Melissa Wolf, Shelli Robiner-Ardizzone and Beth Ellis. Nancy is currently studying with Steve Lampasona and Mary Ann Heinzen. She is a member of the National Art League, The Art Guild of Port Washington, Art League of Nassau County, and the Floral Park Art League. She is an award-winning artist, and her paintings have been shown in various juried exhibitions throughout Queens and Long Island, including Huntington Arts Council, Celebration of the Arts exhibition at Bayside Historical Society, Citibank Juried Exhibition in Old Brookville, NY and at Elderfields Art Gallery of the Port Washington Art League. Nancy was recently a recipient of a Certificate of Recognition in the Equestrian Competition, sponsored by the New York Racing Asoociation.

In November of 2010, Nancy displayed over 20 of her works in a solo exhibition at the
Parlor Art Gallery in Douglaston, NY
